Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the appointment of Eva Qamaniq Aariak as the new Commissioner of Nunavut on January 12, 2021.
Commissioner Aariak was officially sworn in on February 3, 2021 in the chamber of the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut by Chief Justice Neil Sharkey.
